Anonymous said: I heard the two year contracts were a new thing he tried to implement and had all of his elites sign them (though apparently USAG has "punished" (I can't think of the right word there) him for the contracts). I don't think that he was trying to do anything shady, just trying to protect his business from people just leaving

For anon. ^^^^^^

Anonymous said: Hey! What's the whole thing about Chow and binding contracts and Gabby wanting to protect herself? I didn't hear anything about this and was really surprised to see it because Chow has always looked like such an amazing guy who really cares about his gymnasts and treats them as his own children.

I’m just going to let you know what I’ve heard but nothing is really confirmed yet. So basically Gabby went to Chow for a trial period and afterwards he wanted her to sign a two year (I think it was a two year) contract that for two years she couldn’t go anywhere else to train to prevent her from getting up and leaving the gym at any time (like she has previously done). There is also a rumor going around that Gabby’s mom is the one who took her out of Chow’s but again, nothing is confirmed as of yet. If you know anything about this, please correct me if I’m wrong.

Who do you think will win the AA title at this year’s Commonwealth games?

It’s pretty clear she was trying to protect herself. She’s not comparable to the racist, unethical, and violent athletes for leaving Chow. If she was a different gymnast, she would be called strong and courageous.
